Understanding Investment Pool Options
Recommend the Right Investment for Your Generosity Horizon
You can recommend that the dollars in a fund be placed in one (or more) of our biblically responsible investment (BRI) pools. Certain investment options may suit a fund differently depending upon the grant recommendation activity and goals of the fund.
The Signatry has three managed investment pools and a money market pool option. Please watch the video below to understand each option and how it affects the fund's activity and efficiency.
Managed Investment Pools: Understanding Risk and Expected Return
Each available investment pool comes with a different level of risk. Like any other investment, these pools take time to see meaningful growth. It is important to recommend a BRI pool with an expected return that aligns with your generosity horizon.
Our managed investment pools are ideal for donors who intend to let the balance of a DAF grow for at least three years before recommending regular grants out of the fund. See below for the expected return on each pool.
Conservative Pool — Moderate Risk

Visit our website here for a detailed look at the breakdown of each pool’s targeted allocation across the markets. You can also see the previous quarter's investment performance report at thesignatry.com/quarterlyperformance. All management fees are assessed to a fund quarterly.
Money Market
Management Fee: None
The Money Market pool is allocated to various cash and money market investments characterized by their short maturities and minimal credit risk. 100% of funds will be placed in the money market pool unless another investment option is recommended. We employ financial-industry-accepted best practices to share growth in our money market pool earnings with our donor advised funds.
The Money Market pool is ideal for donors who plan to get started recommending grants out of a donor advised fund right away.
Many donors find it important to keep a balance of funds readily available for granting in the money market pool, while recommending another portion of their fund be invested into a longer-term growth BRI pool. In some cases, such as advisor managed accounts, our policy requires a minimum percentage of a fund to be kept in the money market pool to allow for granting and fees.
